Faculty advisor:-

We would like to have Aruna ma’am as our faculty advisor/mentor.

Background:-

Dance, the movement of the body in a rhythmic way, usually to music and within a given space, for the purpose of expressing an idea or emotion, releasing energy, or simply taking delight in the movement itself.

Many students at our college are very skilful at dance and are just waiting for an opportunity to demonstrate their skills. A Dance club could be a very ideal platform for them to unleash their fear and express themselves to the fullest. It becomes a form of refreshment from the rigorous academic schedule and also eventually develops a student’s skill and respect towards the art form.

b) Dedicated room for practice ( stilt area or 3rd floor ) for conducting regular sessions.
c) Basic equipment like Music system and Speakers, Mirrors and Connectors.

Current Problems:
  • Considering how tight our academic schedule is, getting approval for necessary timings has always been a key problem for the club. Practice time from 6 pm to 12 am is required as most of the time is wasted in assembling and dispersal for dinner.
  • Bus facility must be arranged for girls to come to the academic block whenever the practice is scheduled.
  • If possible, arrange food for girls at boy’s mess at weekend practice sessions.
  • Till now, there has been no assigned area for the club. All the events that the club has conducted were practised in the classrooms and corridors without proper lighting. We as a club are very passionate about the dance events that we conduct but know that the classrooms are not levelled surfaces and very inconvenient.
  • For the performances that we have given, choreography has been done by the students upon learning from YouTube. This has become a major hindrance for us to create our own YouTube channel and upload our recordings. We strongly believe that each and every college which has a dance crew has one or more professional dance teachers assisting them throughout the year. Therefore a full time professional dancer, available for at least thrice a week would help in strengthening our club as a whole and put up our college prestige in other college fests.
