Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) Program
IIIT Sri City is actively participating in EBSB program launched by Govt. of India. Currently, IIIT Sri City is paired with IIIT Allahabad. Thus, various activities focusing over the culture of Uttar Pradesh have been conducted and also planned to be conducted in future such as, the cultural events including singing, dancing, etc. based on paired state Uttar Pradesh, food fair based on Uttar Pradesh, quiz for language and notable personalities related to Uttar Pradesh, special dinner for students popular in Uttar Pradesh, swachh bharat campaign and activities, pledge on swachhta, debates and drama based on the social culture of Uttar Pradesh, cultural and social activities related to Uttar Pradesh, essay writing and competition over notable festival, personalities, crop, etc. of Uttar Pradesh and may more.
The first EBSB day was celebrated on 24th January 2020 which also happened to be the statehood day of Uttar Pradesh, in the premises of the IIIT Sri City. The EBSB day program was started in the presence of Prof. G. Kannabiran, Director, IIIT Sri City, Dr. Shiv Ram Dubey, Assistant Professor, IIIT Sri City and Prof. Chalam, Campus Life Advisor, IIIT Sri City. The opening speech was given by Dr. Shiv Ram Dubey, the Faculty Coordinator of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat for the institute. He enlightened the students with his morsel of wisdom on the importance and necessity of cultural integration and its role in further strengthening the ties amongst the states and overall unity of India. This was followed by a documentary on Uttar Pradesh. Students got to know about the various aspects of the state. It includes its demography, geography, literature, politics, etc. The documentary was followed by a singing performance by Mr. Debapriya Tula and Mr. Vaibhav Maheswari. The event, in particular, focused on the literary aspects of Uttar Pradesh. Mr Ketan Lambat threw light on the great poets who have emerged from this land through the various generations. Some of the prominent names included Tulasi Dasa, Amir Khusrau and Harivansh Rai Bachchan amongst the common contemporaries. A lucid account of their writing style and achievements was shared with the students. Students were also told about Rani Lakshmibai and her struggle against British which was one of the milestones in our nation’s struggle for independence.
