About The club
Epoch is the AIML club of IIIT-S. We encourage students of IIIT-S interested in artificial intelligence and machine learning to join us.
The club teaches students about Machine learning. It creates a great environment for students to discuss and learn about various parts of ML and AI. The club also provides students with resources and guidance to explore specific fields of AIML. Allows for networking between club members for possible project or research collaboration.
Objectives
- To create an environment for students interested in AI/ML to explore further and to spark an interest in someone who's new.
- To educate students on what exactly Machine Learning is and to get them interested in ML.
- To help students familiarise themselves with ML frameworks, workflows and best practices.
- To have hands-on sessions for simple experiments.
- To guide a student with project ideas in the right direction.
Activities
- Introductory session for the new batch
- Basic ML algorithms (Gradient descent, K-NN)
- Hands-on Performance validation and testing metrics
- Introduction to Simple MLP
- Session on Bayesian modelling
- Hands-on introduction to simple ML frameworks-1 (keras)
- Random Forests, bagging and boosting
- Hands-on introduction to simple ML frameworks-2 (pyTorch)
- Introduction to Deep learning.
- Paper discussions
