Mode of Teaching and Learning for 1st year B.Tech. Students
Due to COVID-19 pandemic, IIIT Sri City campus was closed for academic activity from the mid of March 2020 and very soon the institute moved to online mode of teaching via Google Meet w.e.f 23rd March 2020. The academic activity continued through online teaching as per regular semester time table till the end of the Spring 2020 semester.
The 8th Semester B.Tech Students graduated on 08th June 2020. The sixth, fourth and second semesters B.Tech. Exams were held in month of July 2020. All examinations were conducted on online (remote mode).
The new session (2020-21) for the 2nd year, 3rd year, and 4th year B.Tech. students commenced on 10th August 2020 on online mode (as per our institute almanac). Then the mid semester exams were also conducted in the month of September - October 2020. All students are attending classes and exams online from home.
In view of the COVID - 19 pandemic, the central and state government advisories and parents' concerns, IIIT Sri City will propose to adopt online teaching for 1st year B.Tech Students (classes are likely to start in the end of November 2020). The 1st year students will be asked to come to the campus only after the current prevailing situation becomes conducive. This will be only after government guidelines permit institutes to re-open and students are permitted to return to campuses. Till that time, IIIT Sri City will not call students to the campus. This will hopefully not be earlier than 1st March 2021. A minimum of 30 days notice will be provided to 1st year students to join the campus on the scheduled dates. This notice period of 1 month is provided to help students to manage their logistics.
Considering this, it is essential for students to have a Computer (Notebook / Laptop or Desktop) with a cameras and a good internet connection for class participation, conducting lab work, submitting assignment.
