The land allocated by GOAP for the IIIT campus is in Ramachandrapuram Village, Satyavedu Mandal, Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh. The IIIT land comes under the administrative purview of Industrial Area Local Authority(IALA) Sri City. Sri City is a Planned Integrated Business City (Township) located 55 km North of Chennai on NH-5 along the border of Andhra Pradesh (AP) and Tamil Nadu (TN) States of India.
Due to its close proximity to Chennai, IIIT benefits from the well-developed social infrastructure of Chennai.
The IIIT is 80 km from Chennai, 22 km from Sullurpeta, 75 km from Temple town of Tirupathi and 45 km from Srikalahasti. Tada Railway Station is 9 km from IIIT, across NH-5. Chennai Local Trains stop at Tada Railway Station.
The Satish Dhawan Space Centre (aka SHAR), India’s Satellite/Rocket launching center is located at Sriharikota, on the eastern side of the Pulicat Lake which separates Sri City and SHAR.
Sri City is already home to over 80 leading International Companies and this number is expected to go up to 500 during the next decade. The students will greatly benefit from the interactions with these leading corporations.
The IIIT campus will be located on Jnan Marg off SriCity Central Expressway.
Sankara Netralaya, Chennai School of Business Excellence (CSBE), Institute for Financial Management & Research (IFMR) are also located on Central Expressway. A Law College is also coming up near IIIT campus.
