Organised a presentation on Active Shape Models by Prof. Dipti Prasad Mukherjee of Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Kolkata. He introduced the audience to computer vision, discussing various ideas relating to how the computer recognises patterns and identifies objects. He spoke about Active Shape Models, a technique widely used to analyse images of faces, mechanical assemblies and medical images. It finds its application in forensic study, video tracking, face recognition, etc. Additionally, some experiments undertaken at ISI were also talked about. The presentation, which was quite interactive, garnered huge interest from the audience.
